Spring is in full swing, and there's plenty happening in and around the hive! Our October meeting is shaping up to be an informative and practical afternoon, with a special guest speaker who will help us prepare our colonies for the busy months ahead. Guest Speaker – Janis Feldgen from Bee Wise We’re delighted to welcome Janis from “Bee Wise” as our guest speaker for October. Janis will be talking about two very timely topics for beekeepers: October Jobs Around the Hive With spring activity increasing, October is an important month for keeping a close eye on our colonies. Janis will take us through the key jobs and checks that should be on every beekeeper’s list this month, helping us make the most of the spring buildup while keeping our bees healthy and productive. The Latest in Varroa Control Janis will also bring us up to date on the latest developments in Varroa control. With Varroa an ongoing concern for Australian beekeepers, this will be a valuable opportunity to learn about current management approaches and what we should be considering when inspecting and managing our hives.
